Ah yes! My FAVORITE time of year! That time when the heat turns up and the garlic starts sizzling! I’m lucky to have grown up with the festival. My dad has been a pyro chef for 30+ years, and I have since followed in those pyro shoes for 2 years now. This exposure to the other side of the festival over the years has afforded me some amazing vantage points. Last year I took advantage of it; and now I am FINALLY posting the images. Enjoy…

It’s not every day your best friend grows up and moves far away. It also isn’t every day that you get to be the one to take her there. Paige and I decided we could get from Los Angeles to Fort Worth in about 2.18 days, and by jove we did just that! Along the way we got to experience some VERY creepy gas stations, a national treasure, some quality family time, a couple of tourist traps, a handful of state lines and the place that she now calls home.
